One for You 9mm Haters

A New York police officer apparently was saved by a magazine on his belt when a criminal fired on him with a 9mm pistol.

The New York Post referred to it as a "bullet pouch," but Police Commissioner Ray Kelly used correct terminology when he said "the magazine may well have saved his life."

The officer and a partner returned fired and chased the criminal, who ditched his Taurus autoloader in a trash compactor. His blood trail was followed to a nearby housing project, where he was captured.

Detractors of the 9mm will chalk this up as more evidence the caliber won't get it done, while supporters will identify it as the exception that proves the rule.
