Chicago State Sen. Donne Trotter was released on $25,000 bond after being arrested this week for trying to board a Washington-bound plane with a .25 cal. Beretta automatic in his carry-on baggage. As you would guess, Trotter has a long record of opposing concealed carry for the average citizen; he gets to carry one as a licensed security guard, and claimed he was on duty the night before the flight.
Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass listed a variety of funny nicknames for Trotter suggested by radio callers, including:
Donne “Tiny Pistol” Trotter
Donne “Dead-Eye” Trotter
“Pea Shooter” Trotter
“Pop Gun” Trotter
And my personal favorite, “Police Blotter” Trotter
My guess is that if a bunch of radio callers in Chicago can come up with good nicknames, SGN readers can come up with some even better ones. Just to make it interesting, the best nickname wins an appropriate prize, an ArmsBand (www.armsband.com) bicep holster. It’s just the thing for your .25 Beretta or even something a bit bigger.
Keep entries free of profanity, if you please; we’ll take entries until noon Dec. 10 and award the prize that afternoon.
