KEY WEST, Fla. – Known for their high-quality products and unwavering sense of style, today SilencerCo revealed four new additions to their product line at an ultra cool get-together in the Florida Keys. Two of these products will be available next month, while the other two will premiere sometime next year.
First is the product the event was named after: The Maxim 9. The product was revealed with a 1980s style VHS promo video that looks more like a bad action movie than a produce release.
It resembles a laser pistol from a dystopian 1980s future drowned in neon lights and dayglow. The Maxim 9 is an integrally suppressed 9mm pistol that fits holsters produced by holster maker Raven Concealment Systems.. Even more remarkable is the fact that the Maxim is hearing safe with all factory ammunition. Built on an M&P C.O.R.E. pistol, the Maxim 9 takes the same magazines as the regular M&P C.O.R.E. The Maxim is expected to ship early 2016. MSRP is to be determined at this time.
Another new product is the Osprey Micro. It's a full-auto-rated .22LR suppressor modeled after the non-concentric centerfire suppressor of the same name. The Osprey Micro is fully modular, like the Salvo 12 shotgun suppressor. It's just three inches long. Additionally, it can be totally disassembled, and works with .22LR, .22 WMR and .17 HMR. Retailing for $599, the Osprey Micro will be available October 2015.
Another new product is the Hybrid, a suppressor SilencerCo claims, "is the most versatile suppressor made." The Hybrid runs with multiple calibers ranging from .45-70 Gov't. and .458 SOCOM to .308 Win., 5.56 and anything in between. Due to its modularity and increased internal volume for smaller calibers, the Hybrid is the quietest suppressor in existence for many calibers.
SilencerCo showcased the product on a .458 SOCOM caliber AR-15 -type rifle and a .45-70 lever gun. Additionally, the Hybrid can interface with multiple interfaces with an adapter for direct threading as well. The Hybrid ships January 2016.
From the newly revealed SilencerCo Weapons Research comes their first so called human augmentation device, the Radius. The Radius allows shooters to judge distances to targets without coming off their firearm or changing their shooting stance or position. The Radius is a rangefinding device that mounts to either a rifle optic or the siderail on the host firearm.
Effective out to one mile, the Radius can range as small a target as 16 inches, runs on two CR123 batteries and weighs just less than a pound while operating at temperatures ranging from 20 to 120 degrees F. The Radius displays three ranges, one primary and two secondary if interfered with by obstructions, is legal to hunt with in all but two states and should ship in October. SilencerCo CEO, Josh Waldron, commented on the Radius saying it's "just the beginning," adding that SWR will continue to release more augmentation devices in the near future. MSRP: $999.
