Inside the Israeli Defense Forces, Part 2: Ambush

In Part 1 of Inside the Israeli Defense Forces, David Fortier spoke with Lt. Col. (Ret.) Mikey Hartman of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to discuss his extensive career achievements while in service.

In the next part of our series, Hartman and Fortier dive into the art of ambush, then and now.

During the 1908s, IDF ambush tactics were very different from current practices. Hartman discusses how his sniper units would operate in a star formation, where each soldier laid prone and rotated their overwatch and sleep patterns to most efficiently utilize a teamwork strategy.

Hartman also analyzes how the advancement of rifle optic technologies have changed modern battlefield tactics.

Check out our exclusive video interview below, and tune in for Part 3 of Inside the Israeli Defense Forces with Lt. Col. (Ret.) Mikey Hartman.
