On Aug. 13, 2013, two historic Russian firearm manufacturers, Izhmash and Izhevsk, announced their merger into the Kalashnikov Concern.
David Fortier traveled to Russia to chronicle this event. While he was there, he explored some of the weaponry being produced by the Kalashnikov Concern's newest small arms manufacturing alliance.
Fortier had the opportunity to fire the Vityaz-SN PP-9x19 submachine gun, which is being compared to the HK MP5.
