One of the best parts of the annual SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada is exploring the show floor for new companies and products. Everyone already knows that the big-name companies will have new products worth checking out, but the real fun is heading to what we call the basement to look for new products. Even if you walk the basement a dozen times, you’ll still come across companies you’ve missed somehow. This year, the Firearms News team came across an awesome company called Riptide Armory, and the short version of this story is that they make some awesome cleaning agents and lubricants for firearms.

Founded by former U.S. Navy SEAL Troy Malesky, Riptide Armory works to use the most cutting-edge technology available for optimal gun performance. Malesky spent time downrange where he quickly learned what works and what doesn’t, but he also led an advanced training wing as a Naval Special Warfare Operator. His experience, plus a little Alabama engineering, has led Riptide Armory to the forefront of optimizing gun performance. Take a look at some of the products that stood out to us at Firearms News.

New! Advanced Oil

All firearms need some oil or lubricant to function, but that is especially true for semi-auto firearms like the AR platform. The secret sauce, so to speak, of Riptide Armory’s new Advanced Oil is an added graphene element. Infusing the gun oil with graphene offers a lot of advantages for keeping guns running smooth, and it’s an element you’ll see in a number of Riptide Armory Offerings. The graphene coats the moving parts on a gun and adds an extra layer of lubricity and protection. The graphene is also excellent for preventing rust and other corrosion, and it helps prevent carbon and copper build-up. A two-ounce bottle will set you back about $12, but a little goes a long way with Riptide Armory’s Advanced Oil with graphene.

Even if you’ve done a good job with preventative maintenance, you’ll still need to give your firearms a deep cleaning from time to time. The Riptide Armory Advance Gun Cleaner is an all-purpose solution that works on all firearms. It’s been designed specifically to target common contaminates like carbon build-up, copper build-up and other tough residue. Riptide Armory designed the Advanced Gun Cleaner to be as powerful as other solvent-based gun cleaners without the risk of damaging any of your guns. Metal, wood, polymer or anything else, the Advanced Gun Cleaner cleans without staining or blemishing your guns. The Riptide Armory Advanced Gun Cleaner is offered in a small, four-ounce bottle for about $13 all the way up to an entire gallon for $100 with several options in between. Unless you’re one of Malesky’s SEALs, you probably won’t need a gallon.

Advanced Hand Cleaner

Are you starting to see a trend with the names? Well, it’s not just for marketing. Riptide Armory is truly making some advanced cleaning agents and lubes, and one of the coolest is their Advanced Hand Cleaner. If you’re not aware, you get a lot of chemicals and carbon on your hands when you shoot a gun. Most of those are not anything you’d want inside your body. If you’ve been shooting all morning, you definitely need to be cleaning your hand before you eat food or do anything else, and the Advanced Hand Cleaner is a handy accessory to keep in your range bag to keep your hands clean, hence the name. The Riptide Armory Advanced Hand Cleaner uses pieces of walnut shells as an abrasive to remove built-up carbon on your hands. The walnut shells are gritty, yet they don’t cause excessive irritation, and the cleaning agent removes the chemical residues. The Advanced Hand Cleaner is a no-brainer to keep in your range bag, and a 12-ounce bottle has an MSRP of $13.

Gun cleaning agents and lubes may not be the most exciting part of shooting, but they are definitely an incredibly important part of it. You and your guns need to function well, whether it’s a fun day at the range or if you’re life depends on it. There are a lot of great options out there to keep your guns running smoothly, but Riptide Armory is a unique, U.S.-based, veteran-owned company that does it right. The next time your run out of gun lube or cleaners, give Riptide Armory a look!
