Gun Owners of America (GOA) has a smaller membership than the National Rifle Association , but its reputation is one of no compromise, and it’s not about to compromise on the so-called “assault weapon” ban that’s percolating in Congress so soon after the passage of a gun-control package.
In a GOA article written by Erich Pratt, New ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban Incoming , you’ll find a link to a pre-written letter that can be sent directly to your U.S. Representatives and Senators. You’ll need to fill in your name and address—so they know which Congress people to email—before you’re taken to the letter. Once on the letter screen, you have the ability to edit the email subject and message itself. The tone is unmistakably forceful and is intended to convey how serious gun owners are about sitting out the midterms if we’re betrayed again, which is undoubtedly exactly what the Democrats want.
Here’s how the letter reads:
Subject line: Vote no on “assault weapons” ban

I was furious to hear that the House is ALREADY considering more gun control.
As your constituent, I urge you to VOTE NO on the ban on so-called “assault weapons” introduced in the House, H.R. 1808.
The House and Senate already passed gun control last month – including Red Flag Gun Confiscation Laws.

And yet, that gun control package failed to prevent another tragic shooting from happening in the extremely anti-gun state of Illinois that had *already* had Red Flag Gun Confiscation Laws on the books.
It’s time for Congress to actually listen to their constituents, follow the hard evidence that gun control fails to keep citizens safe, and simply abide by the Constitution.
After you make any desired changes, select the Next button. You’ll be taken to a screen where you can make a donation to GOA. It takes less than two minutes to complete the form and submit your letter. It is important that all Americans take an active role in the working of our Republic. This is a quick and easy way for you to let your representatives know your wishes—in no uncertain terms.
