Kel-Tec is improving on its popular Sub 2000 carbine in 2015 with a series of upgrades. The company is also adamant that they will be fulfilling high demand with increased production in 2015.
The new Kel-Tec Sub 2000 Gen 2 is a sturdier and more ergonomic design overall and comes with several new features to enhance the shooter's comfort and performance with the firearm. A new, slimmer handguard has been added that incorporates a 1913 Picatinny rail on top and beneath the forend as well as M-Lok slots for mounting additional accessories, and an adjustable stock has been included for altering the length of pull to accommodate different shooters.
The polymer front sight on the original Sub 2000 has been replaced with an aluminum front sight featuring an elevation-adjustable A2-style front post, and a thumbscrew has been added for adjusting windage. The Sub 2000 Gen 2 also includes a muzzle nut and set screw for removing the sight and 1/2x28" threads in case the shooter wants to attach a muzzle brake or suppressor.
A new molded receiver manufactured from higher quality polymers and a new black nitrided bolt tube round out the list of new features. As with the previous Sub 2000 carbine, the new Gen 2 version will also fold for storage and concealment.
