Savage Arms RENEGAUGE Earns Guns & Ammo Shotgun of the Year Award

Savage Arms announced its RENEGAUGE semiautomatic shotgun has been selected as the Shotgun of the Year by Guns & Ammo Magazine. The American-made 12 gauge semiautomatic was chosen for the award by the Editors, contributors and staff of the magazine chose this american-made 12 gauge

"We’re humbled by this award," Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms said. “The competition in 2020 was fierce. We knew when we began working on RENEGAUGE that we had to make a shotgun that was worthy of the Savage name, and RENEGAUGE is it. The DRIV system allows RENEGAUGE to cycle anything, and its stock can be adjusted to provide users a tailored fit. Guns & Ammo’s award is a welcome validation of Savage’s commitment to quality and innovation.”

“The Savage RENEGAUGE elevated the brand to a higher level in 2020, and proved that it’s not just a company that makes rifles,” Guns & Ammo’s editors noted. “Especially looking to attract turkey hunters and waterfowlers, Savage Arms challenged its engineers to design a reliable operating system that would feed 2 3/4-and 3-inch loads. The result was the Dual Regulating Inline Valve (DRIV) system, which is a short-stroke piston system having two regulating valves on either side of the barrel where excess gas is vented through radial ports.

“During Guns & Ammo’s evaluation, we determined that Savage Arms succeeded in producing a shotgun that yields exceptional accuracy and mild recoil,” they added. “Dressed in black or popular hard-use camouflage coverings, the Renegauge is an American-made gun that still offers value in line with foreign competitors.”

The Shotgun of the Year award is a testament to RENEGAUGE’s success, and exceptional news for Savage. Guns are currently in stock at dealers across the country.

The RENEGAUGE is available in three configurations.

The RENEGAUGE Field is an all-around work horse that can go anywhere and cycle anything.

The Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades pattern and 28” barrel makes the RENEGAUGE Waterfowl ideal for duck season.

Turkey hunters will appreciate the extra concealment offered by the RENEGAUGE Turkey's Mossy Oak Bottomland camo, and the maneuverability of its 24” barrel.
